Happy Easter! I tremendously thank everyone for your hard work with the church and parish hall decorations, superb music, all liturgical ministers and all parishioners for your participation in our Holy Week’s busy schedule! Thank you very much for making this an incredibly memorable Holy Week!!!

   Please extend a warm welcome and congratulations to those that received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation), and the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation for full communion with the Catholic Church during last night’s Easter Vigil. I thank God for the gift of the Easter Vigil (the Mother of all Vigils), because without it, there would be no rhyme nor reason to the purpose of Lent. After all, what does fasting, almsgiving and prayer have to do with Easter? Everything! Jesus taught us well, and if we have listened, and implemented His love into our daily lives, then we have done those things, not merely doing them for the sake of fulfilling the prerequisites of the Lenten Season, but rather, to become the best version of ourselves, to become the best Christian disciple that we can possibly become.    DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY – The Second Sunday of Easter will mark the Feast of Divine Mercy as established by Saint John Paul II. This is the feast honoring our Lord Jesus Christ as the Divine Mercy. In order to prepare adequately for this Solemnity of the Divine Mercy, you are cordially invited by Holy Mother Church to pray the Novena, which began on Good Friday, and will end this next Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter. After each Sunday Mass, I cordially invite you to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Novena Prayer in the church.

   DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY & PLENARY INDULGENCE OFFERED If you pray for the intentions of Pope Leo XIV, make a good confession eight days before or after the feast and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of Divine Mercy, you will receive a Plenary Indulgence, that is to say all temporal punishment due to sin is omitted. Thus, if a person dies after the reception of the plenary indulgence and prior to committing a sin, the person will go straight to heaven.

   EASTER REST – Since it is customary for every priest to take some time off after Easter, I will not be in the office from April 6-11, 2026.

   OPERATION RICE BOWLS – The time has finally arrived to bring your Operation Rice Bowls back to the church! Once you do so, please place them in the box placed in the church’s entrance. Your gift will help to financially assist our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Again, thanks for being the hands and feet of Christ!!! Peace in Christ,

   ¡Felices Pascuas! Agradezco inmensamente a todos por su arduo trabajo en la decoración de la iglesia y del salón parroquial, la excelente música, todos los ministros litúrgicos y a todos los feligreses por su participación en la intensa agenda de nuestra Semana Santa. ¡Muchas gracias por hacer de esta una Semana Santa increíblemente memorable!

   Por favor, extiendan una cálida bienvenida y felicitaciones a quienes recibieron los Sacramentos de Iniciación (Bautismo, Eucaristía y Confirmación), así como los Sacramentos de la Eucaristía y la Confirmación para entrar en la plena comunión con la Iglesia Católica, durante la Vigilia Pascual de anoche. Doy gracias a Dios por el don de la Vigilia Pascual (la Madre de todas las Vigilias), porque sin ella, no habría sentido ni razón para el propósito de la Cuaresma. Después de todo, ¿Qué tienen que ver el ayuno, la limosna y la oración con la Pascua? ¡Todo! Jesús nos enseñó bien, y si hemos escuchado e incorporado su amor en nuestra vida diaria, entonces habremos cumplido con esas prácticas, no simplemente por cumplir con los requisitos de la temporada cuaresmal, sino más bien para convertirnos en la mejor versión de nosotros mismos, para llegar a ser el mejor discípulo cristiano que podamos ser.

   DOMINGO DE LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA – El Segundo Domingo de Pascua marcará la Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia, establecida por San Juan Pablo II. Esta es la fiesta en honor a nuestro Señor Jesucristo como la Divina Misericordia. Con el fin de prepararse adecuadamente para esta Solemnidad de la Divina Misericordia, la Santa Madre Iglesia les invita cordialmente a rezar la Novena, la cual comenzó el Viernes Santo y concluirá este próximo Domingo, el Segundo Domingo de Pascua. Después de cada Misa dominical, les invito cordialmente a rezar la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia y la Oración de la Novena en la iglesia.        DOMINGO DE LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA Y LA INDULGENCIA PLENARIA – Si reza por las intenciones del Papa León XIV, realiza una buena confesión ocho días antes o después de la fiesta y recibe la Sagrada Comunión en la Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia, obtendrá una Indulgencia Plenaria; es decir, se le condona todo castigo temporal debido al pecado. Por consiguiente, si una persona fallece después de haber recibido la indulgencia plenaria y antes de cometer algún pecado, irá directamente al Cielo.

   DESCANSO DE PASCUA – Dado que es costumbre que todo sacerdote tome un tiempo de descanso después de la Pascua, no estaré en la oficina del 6 al 11 de Abril de 2026.

   OPERACIÓN PLATO DE ARROZ – ¡Finalmente ha llegado el momento de traer sus “Platos de Arroz” de regreso a la iglesia! Una vez que lo hagan, por favor colóquenlos en la caja ubicada en la entrada de la iglesia. Su donación ayudará a brindar asistencia financiera a nuestros hermanos y hermanas más necesitados. ¡Nuevamente, gracias por ser las manos y los pies de Cristo!
