Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

   In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks words that cross time and speak directly to our daily lives: “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” These are not empty compliments nor simple beautiful metaphor, but a mission entrusted to every disciple who chooses to follow Him.

   To be the salt of the earth means to give flavor to life, to preserve what is good, and to heal what begins to decay. A Christian who lives the faith with coherence quietly transforms his or her surroundings—in the family, in the workplace, and in the community. But Jesus also warns us of the danger of a faith that loses its strength, a lukewarm faith that settles into comfort and ceases to be a living witness of God’s love.

   To be the light of the world is to allow Christ to illuminate our lives so that, through us, others may find the way. Light is not meant to be hidden, but to shine. Every act of mercy, every gesture of justice, every word of consolation becomes a spark of that light which leads others to give glory to the Father who is in heaven.

   Today the Lord invites us to ask ourselves honestly: Are we allowing our faith to shine through our actions? Are we salt that gives flavor, or has our faith become bland through routine, fear, or indifference?

   Let us ask the Holy Spirit to renew our hearts, so that our actions may speak louder than our words, and so that, by seeing the way we love, serve, and forgive, many may discover the loving and merciful face of God.

   May the Virgin Mary, the light who leads us to Christ, accompany us on this journey of faith and witness. Sincerely yours in Christ,

   ¡Saludos en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo!

   En el Evangelio, Jesús nos dirige hoy unas palabras que atraviesan el tiempo y llegan con fuerza a nuestra vida cotidiana: "Ustedes son la sal de la tierra… Ustedes son la luz del mundo”. No se trata de un elogio vacío ni de una simple metáfora hermosa, sino de una misión confiada a todo discípulo que ha decidido seguirlo.

   Ser sal de la tierra significa dar sabor a la vida, preservar lo bueno, sanar lo que comienza a corromperse. Un cristiano que vive su fe con coherencia y transforma silenciosamente su entorno: en la familia, en el trabajo, en la comunidad. Pero Jesús también nos advierte del peligro de una fe que pierde su fuerza, una fe tibia que se conforma y deja de ser testimonio vivo del amor de Dios.

   Ser luz del mundo es permitir que Cristo ilumine nuestra vida para que, a través de nosotros, otros puedan encontrar el camino. La luz no existe para esconderse, sino para alumbrar. Cada gesto de misericordia, cada acto de justicia, cada palabra de consuelo es una chispa de esa luz que conduce a los hombres a glorificar al Padre que está en los cielos.

   Hoy el Señor nos invita a preguntarnos con honestidad: ¿Estamos dejando que nuestra fe ilumine nuestras obras? ¿Somos sal que da sabor o una fe que se ha vuelto insípida por la rutina, el miedo o la indiferencia?

  Pidamos al Espíritu Santo que renueve nuestro corazón, para que nuestras obras hablen más fuerte que nuestras palabras, y para que, al ver nuestra manera de amar, servir y perdonar, muchos descubran el rostro bueno y misericordioso de Dios.

   Que la Virgen María, luz que nos conduce a Cristo, nos acompañe en este camino de fe y testimonio.
